ICAP Advisory Board

The International Career Advancement Program has an Advisory Board that advises the Director Dr. E. Thomas Rowe on the program, funding and possible participants. The Advisory Board includes several distinguished individuals who serve as senior officials in Aspen and as mentors to the ICAP mid-career participants.

George Dalley is an attorney and independent consultant whose distinguished career in public service included several years as Chief Counsel and Staff Director for Congressman Charles Rangel.

Ambassador Ruth Davis serves as chair of the International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge.  She retired at the rank of Career Ambassador from the US Foreign Service after a long and distinguished career, including service as Ambassador to Benin, Director of the Foreign Service Institute and Director-General of the Foreign Service.

The Honorable Lauri

Fitz-Pegado is the creator and curator of Inthedash.live and Beyondtheball.live. She is a former partner at the Livingston Group, LLC, and former Assistant Secretary and Director General of the US and Foreign Commercial Service at the US Department of Commerce.

Dr. Allan Goodman is currently President and CEO of the Institute of International Education.

Ambassador William H. Itoh is the Director of the Washington International Programs of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, based in Washington, DC.

Elena Mola, Infrastructure Development and Finance Attorney, Corporate Executive and Chairman of the Board of International Energy and Financial Technologies Companies, based in Washington, DC, Naples, FL and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Dr. Ved Nanda is a John Evans University Professor, Thompson G. Marsh Professor of Law, Director of the International Legal Studies Program and Director of the Ved Nanda Center for International Law at the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law.

Lon Hatamiya is the President and CEO of the Hatamiya Group in California.  His previous positions included serving as Secretary of California Technology, Trade and Commerce Agency and as Administrator of the Foreign Agricultural Service of the US Department of Agriculture.

Ambassador Peter Romero is creator and producer of the podcast “American Diplomat” and had a distinguished career in the Foreign Service, including service as US Ambassador to Ecuador and as Assistant Secretary for  Western Hemisphere Affairs.

Dr. Ernest James Wilson III is the founder and director of the Center for Third Space Thinking and a professor and former Dean at the Annenberg School of Communication of the University of Southern California.
